Magpies Great Display Unable To Prevent Defeat

The Magpies put up a great second half display in front of 45 000 fans and also interim manager Joe Kinear but was not able to prevent yet another defeat on the day.

Blackburn wrapped the show at half time with 2 goals by Christopher Samba and Roque Santa Cruz but pull one back on the penalty spot converted by skipper Micheal Owen.

Joe Kinear wasn't in- charge till Monday (though my previous post might say otherwise) did give the lads a pep talk on half time which spur a great performance on the second half.

Joe will be taking charge on the first team beginning on Monday will have his work cut in inspiring the lads to put a performance in front of the crowd just like the one we see on the second half.

Hopefully results will pull in and we expect to see stability in the team and hopefully good results to pull in the future.

Magpies Downed Again

Carling cup has been the target of caretaker boss Chris Hughton but as the dark clouds hovering Newcastle Utd ..... it was simply not meant to be.

Reigning champions Spurs defeated the Magpies by 2-1 at St.James Park which capped another disappointing display from the Toon camp.

Only 20 ,000 odd fans turn up (the lowest since the time Osvaldo Ardilles was in-charge) for the game; a game going to a disappointing night for everyone and hopefully to be forgotten in the future.

Two goals from Spurs summer signing Roman Pavlyuchenko killed us and a consolation by Micheal Owen was enough to save the Black and WHites on the night.

To make matters worse, striker Obafemi Martins injured his knee and results has shown that he will be out for at least 6 weeks.

The team looks desperate enough and we hope the board take swift action in appointing an interim manager soon.

Mike Ashley To Sell Newcastle Utd

If we were to read the back pages of Sunday's newpapers in England, a lot of stories about NUFC has popped out (not too surprising though).

I mean the protests and other fans reaction is one thing but what particularly grab my attention is that the owner has finally give up on Newcastle.

Whether it's true or not has yet to be seen, but I was kinda despised by the article that came out from "News Of The World" claiming that Mike Ashley was doing everything in his power to bring the club forward.

From the standpoint at the moment, hey, maybe it's true cause we did not want to be another Leeds United, cashing on high profile names and wages but to think the incident that occur this past few weeks is it really him and his actions that can bring this club forward?

The sale of up-and-coming young talent in James Milner (for example) and the issue where the entire squad put out for sale, what's happening?

Maybe, Mike do have a business plan (a long term strategy) for the club but his board of so-called directors that he entrusted to do the job is swindling the club every minute of it.

It doesn't surprised why the fans are so annoyed cause the PR is as bad as well.

We need football minded people back in the boardroom..... people like David Dein or Kevin Keegan for example cause now the mismanagement of the club is leading everyone clueless to which direction the club is heading.

News also popped out that a local based consortium and a Chinese businessman is ready to cash in on the the club if eventually Mike decided to put the club on sale.

Anyway what a week to remember for the Toon Army ... hopefully good news will come within the next few days.

Magpies Downed By Tigers

It couldn't get any worse for the Magpies as they went down 1-2 at home against Hull City who took full advantage of the off-field situation of the Tyneside club.

New boy Xisco managed to pull one back on his debut but it couldn't salvaged the despair as Marlon King King has put Hull 2-0 up by the hour.

Even the owner, Mike Ashley and directors weren't there to even witness the match; pathetic response undermining even more backlash from the fans.

Only managing director, Derek Llambias who weren't seem too interested was left alone facing the music on the directors box.

Newcastle Utd needs to solve their off-field problems fast and watching by the standards yesterday, it's quite hard to believe that they can even last the whole Premiership season !

Newcastle Utd vs Hull City (Preview)

Newcastle Utd takes on Hull CIty in a pulsating encounter today at St.James Park.

With tensions running high against owner Mike Ashley and the thought of protestors marching thru the City Square of Tyneside, today might another day to remember for Toon supporters at the north-east of England.


Newcastle Utd has gone through a horrid few weeks with Kevin Keegan's resignation, the highlight of changes and despair for the Toon Army.

WIth all the highlight reels to the ground, caretaker, Chris Hughton will take charge today together with fellow coaches Richard Money and Alan Thompson.

We expect a win to cool the air at St. James Park and we are fully supported of the players field in the line-up today.

Kevin Issue Ultamium

Showdown talks between Kevin Keegan and the board continued today at an unknown location in Manchester to resolve the current crisis that is being plaguing the club recently.

It is understood from an insider that Kevin issued an ultimatum to board; either Wise and Jimenez goes or else.

A strong one by the gaffer who is facing one of the difficult weeks of his life as a manager.

Whether or not Kevin will get what he wants, is yet to be seen.

The power struggle between Kevin Keegan and the directors have gone overboard with news leaking out that every Newcastle Utd player could be bought during the last transfer window; some thing Kevin wasn't aware of at that time.

It seems logic that a manager should take control of the team affairs, he's the one who field them every match day and keep them shape up in training.

What is happening now is that there are dealings behind the back of Kevin's (ins and outs) and Kevin job is reduced to a mere coaching role; something which is simply unheard of.

The situation now is getting worse, clubs hiring Technical directors will end up managers getting the sack or leave. Alan Curbishley is one fine example as he left West Ham due to a behind the scene politics.

For the love of the game, owners or chairman or directors should give the manager power to build his team ...... I'm not saying on behalf of our club but as a whole. You don't see Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger or Rafael Benitez getting their powers taken .... don't you.

As fans we want this issue to be settle fast, it's no use having Newcastle Utd on the press for the wrong reasons.

Owen Sparks As Trotters Went Down

Micheal Owen sent a warning to the Premiership by the winner for the Magpies in the 1-0 win against Gary Megson's Bolton Wanderers.

Owen who came on as a substitute in the 53rd minute for the injured Obafemi Martins scored within 19 minutes on the pitch to send a packed St.James Park crowd in ecstasy.

Newcastle Utd has been in terrific form lately with Shay Given saving a Kevin Nolan's penalty earlier on.

The victory will also be a strong signal to the owner, Mike Ashley, on get Owen's contract terms sorted out as soon as possible.

The Magpies have now 4 points out of a possible 6; a great start to their Premiership campaign.

St. James Park Ready To Roar (Match Preview)

The Magpies will be welcoming Bolton Wanderers to St. James Park for the first ever home match in the new season.

The Magpies started the campaign brightly last weekend with a great display against holders Man. Utd will be up to the task against a resilient Trotters side managed by Gery Megson.

It will a great contest as our travelers too started off their new Premiership campaign brightly with a win against newly promoted Stoke City by 3 goals to 1.

We've expected the Magpies to come in with a win today, nothing less than that.

Expect another explosive performance from our new recruits Coloccini, Guthrie and Gutierrez although I believe Bassong will be introduced in the match at some point of time.

Howay the lads ..... I expect the Toon will be winning this one comfortably by a margin of 3 goals.

Our skipper, Micheal Owen, will be on the bench after passing a fitness test earlier in the week.
